About Me

ARTIST

As a director, producer, and writer, I’m excited by each stage of creating a piece—from revising to staging to bringing in an audience. In my work, I strive to capture the weird and whimsical, the humor and pathos in ordinary people’s lives. I love making shows about individuals from all corners of society—a dairy farmer turned pea milk entrepreneur being audited by the IRS, a female MLB mascot battling the patriarchy and her elaborate costume just to use the bathroom, a band of misfits congregating at the only laundromat in Cross Plains, Wisconsin… My favorite plays to work on are those that paint a vibrant portrait of a specific community, revel in a sense of spectacle, and treat magic as everyday and the everyday as magical.

COLLABORATOR

I’ve worked with large theater institutions, smaller ensembles, and freelance artists, including 600 HIGHWAYMEN, Antigravity Performance Project, Atlantic Theater Company, Clubbed Thumb, Mercury Store, Moxie Arts, New Georges, Talking Band, The 24 Hour Plays, The Associates Theater Ensemble, The Hearth, and Williamstown Theatre Festival. Many thanks to my mentors Abigail Browde, Sara Holdren, Annie Kauffman, Michael Silverstone, Annie Tippe, and Sonya Sobieski.

ADVOCATE

A passionate advocate for equity and diversity within the industry, I’m committed to creating inclusive and community-building theater and to bringing new voices and little-heard perspectives to our art form. With Julia Greer, I co-run The Hearth, a theater company dedicated to supporting the work of emerging artists of underrepresented genders. I’m very proud to have received a New York State Assembly Citation for my contributions to arts activism.
